"Thank you for sending me the manuscript for TITLE, and for your patience as I made my way through my reading to consider it. Unfortunately, the writing style didn't engage me in the way I hoped it would, and so I must pass. I'm of the mind that authors should take all feedback that comes in a pass with a grain of salt, but in case it's helpful to you I wanted to share a little more. Personally, I found the first person present tense oddly distancing in these early pages. I felt like there was too much emphasis on small visual details and little on the character emotional state or concerns, and as a very character driven reader, this meant I wasn't feeling engaged with the character soon enough, which is why I put it down. I wish you all the best and hope you find a home for this project soon.

Thank you for the opportunity, and take care,"

Sigh...
