@cdefranco, I messaged her with an updated manuscript from early November and she let me know she's still working on submissions from May, so she's definitely behind! This is the fourth manuscript of mine she's requested and she usually has gotten back within a month or two. She did say that sending an updated MS doesn't lose you your place in line.

She has an automated email right now that indicates she is on holiday until January 6th, and that if she does not respond to queries by January 17th, it is a pass.

I emailed to provide an updated manuscript for a submission requested in August. Submission is currently at 122 days, but she requests so much (she's up to 130 this year FYI, with over half still out), there's a good chance she hasn't touched it, so I didn't think it would hurt to send the updated manuscript.

Full email:

Thank you for your email. I'm away for the holidays, returning to email on January 6.

I will reply to queries by January 17 only if I wish to read more. If you have not received a response by January 17, it is a pass.

For any manuscript status updates, rest assured that if I confirmed receipt of your manuscript then it is still in the queue. I look forward to reading, and will reply with my thoughts as soon as I'm able.

If you have received an offer of representation, congratulations! I am thrilled to hear it. If the deadline is prior to January 10, unfortunately I will not be able to throw my hat into the ring at this time. Thank you for thinking of me.

If you are inquiring about the translation/foreign rights for a Triada title, please email foreign@triadaus.com.

Thank you for your patience! May you have a safe, warm, peaceful, and joyful holiday season.

All best,
Laura
