"No genre romance, sci-fi, fantasy, sports fiction, YA, screenplays, or children's works unless by an illustrator/artist. Also, if your work is much over 120,000 words, chances are it's too long for us."

Patrick, you might want to change this agent's status to CLOSED TO QUERIES.

My email query, dated 7/27/2024, got an immediate reply saying

Fairbank Literary is closed to queries until September 15, 2024. Their web page did not say "closed to queries" when I submitted mine. Anyway, I changed my Query Status here to NOT SENT

Just noticed that I also received an email notice that went to my Newsletter Folder: "I am away until August 1st. Stay safe, read books, shop at indie bookstores, support democracy, and enjoy summer!"

Agent seems to have moved main office to Massachusetts, as noted in the contact page of her web site, but also seems to still have a satellite office in Hudson, New York.

No children's pb's (among others), unless you're an illustrator per their website: No genre romance, sci-fi, fantasy, sports fiction, YA, screenplays, or children's works unless by an illustrator/artist. Also, if your work is much over 120,000 words, chances are it's too long for us.
