Very helpful and kind personalization (below). Also gave regular updates on her Twitter. Would highly recommend querying her!

"thanks so much for thinking of me with TITLE! I really liked your concept and pitch, adored the synopsis, and I was really excited to read. Unfortunately, once I dove into the sample pages, I couldn't quite connect, so I'm going to step aside...[Specific Developmental notes]...I'm sorry for the disappointing news, but I wish you the best of luck in your querying journey, and I hope that another agent feels that special spark!"

Whelp -- rejected this morning. :/ but it WAS an encouraging personalized letter with an invitation to submit my next project. Really appreciate that she took the time to provide some positive feedback.

“Thanks for your patience while I reviewed your query and sample pages, and thank you so much as well for sending your work my way! I'm sorry to say that TITLE isn't the best fit for me at the time. I can see you have talent, and I do think your pitch and concept have promise, but with the volume of queries I get, I have to be choosy with what to proceed with. Right now there are other manuscripts in my inbox that are a better fit.

I'm sure this is disappointing news, but I truly wish you the best, and I'm crossing my fingers that you'll find just the right agent for your manuscript and career.”

Jenna's rejection was personal and showed me that she really took the time to look over my material. I took her advice so we'll see!
