I am appalled to see the vitriol regarding this agent's request for BIPOC-only submissions. As a white person, I'm glad BIPOC individuals are finding true champions of their work. The bigotry shown below is downright disgusting.

Upset white writers: there are still PLENTY of chances for us to find representation elsewhere. We're not "losing out" to BIPOC writers when agents request specific voices to represent- it's leveling the playing field. If we don't find representation, it's because our books weren't up to snuff, weren't right for the market, or our pitches weren't good. Write better books. Check your privilege. Check your sense of entitlement. Some of y'all's behavior on these forums (and apparently in queries) is abysmal and will be noticed by professionals in the industry. Even if you've written a great story, you're shooting yourself in the foot. But outside of your potential career, for the sake of our fellow writers, please do better.

For anyone hurt by the comments: I know it's not really my place to apologize for them, but I am deeply sorry that you're having to deal with bigotry from within your own writing community. I truly hope you find a champion for your work and I hope to see your books on shelves in the future.
